Prof Priest is an expert in complex fluid behaviour at structured interfaces, multiphase microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip technologies, physical and interfacial chemistry, sensing, and microfluidic process intensification. In 2011, A/Prof Priest was awarded the South Australian Early Career Researcher of the Year Award. He now leads a research group at UniSA's Future Industries Institute, which is focused on interfacial, physical, and analytical science in micro/nano-devices, including advanced microfluidic sensors and separators. His research team is supported by a mix of ARC (DP, LP, ITRH Schemes), State Government, and industry funding. He works closely with industry partners in minerals, water quality, and advanced manufacturing, and has filed and licenced IP from his research over the last five years.
