Celebrating ANFF-SA Node Director Craig Priest’s Decade of Leadership

ANFF is thrilled to congratulate Prof Craig Priest on his 10-year milestone as ANFF-SA Node Director. Since taking on the role in 2015, Craig has been instrumental in expanding the SA team and facilities, making South Australia one of the country’s leading micro- and nanofabrication hubs with significant industry and academic partnerships.

‘Leading ANFF-SA has been a remarkable privilege,’ Craig reflected. ‘Our people, facilities and partners are world-class, and the research we enable is world-changing. Even today, we are pursuing a vision to reach new heights in the decade to come.’

Under Craig’s leadership, the Node’s team and capabilities have expanded to include both the University of South Australia (UniSA) and Flinders University.

Key initiatives include the Microengineering Winter School, the Precision Engineering Centre and ANFF’s first apprentice program. This year, ANFF-SA Precision Engineering Centre at Mawson Lakes will double in size to accommodate new ultra-precision fabrication and metrology capabilities.

UniSA Deputy Vice Chancellor Research & Enterprise, Prof Peter Murphy, commends Craig’s leadership: ‘This year marks 10 years since Prof Craig Priest took on the role of Director of the ANFF, South Australian Node. In this time, Craig’s leadership through UniSA has facilitated a great working relationship between the local SA hubs at both Flinders University and the University of Adelaide. Craig’s excellent working relationship with ANFF nationally has seen a multi-million-dollar investment in world class infrastructure in South Australia that plays a vital role in enabling us to engage with local, national and international industry partners in areas as diverse as space, defence, health, energy and the environment.’

ANFF CEO Jane Fitzpatrick adds, ‘The strength of ANFF comes from the network of people we have gathered. Craig is a spectacular example of someone who ensures the very best for the client base he serves, while contributing to the national agenda in the best collaborative way. ANFF-SA, and by extension South Australia, are very lucky to have such a leader in their midst.’

Please join us in celebrating Prof Craig Priest’s remarkable 10-year journey as ANFF-SA Node Director. His leadership has been pivotal in transforming ANFF-SA into a hub of innovation and excellence. We look forward to many more years of groundbreaking achievements under his guidance.
