Job Opportunities: ANFF-Materials at the University of Wollongong

The ANFF-Materials Node offers extensive and unique capabilities in the design, development, and synthesis of materials and 3D fabricated devices. The ANFF-Materials UOW Hub is part of a broader UOW Research Platforms capability and its activities strongly support research endeavours of UOW’s Faculties and Research Entities. It is also highly involved in the provision of research services to widely ranging internal and external stakeholders, including other Australian and international academic institutions, industry partners, government agencies and departments.

ANFF UOW Materials Node Manager

The Materials Node Manager will work closely with the Director of the ANFF UOW Materials Node to oversee the daily laboratory operations and coordinate staffing. Responsibilities include managing the utilisation of NCRIS supported fabrication tools to effectively deliver fee-for-service activities to support ANFF clients.

This role requires direct engagement with ANFF clients to expand the UOW Materials Node’s user base through outreach and awareness activities. The Manager will play a crucial role in acquiring, commissioning and maintaining capital equipment infrastructure. The Manager will also facilitate the development of new techniques and opportunities to ensure high-quality outcomes for clients.

ANFF Additive Biofabrication Scientist

The Additive Bio-Fabrication Scientist will collaborate within the ANFF UOW Materials Node to support its 3D additive bio-fabrication capabilities along with supporting biomolecular interactions of cellular systems with these fabricated structures. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide fee-for-service support to commercial and academic researchers.

Your responsibilities include developing new techniques and opportunities within the additive bio-fabrication capability as well as maintaining state-of-the-art technologies to deliver high quality outcomes for clients. You will also play a crucial role in training users in additive bio-fabrication techniques along with producing technical and project reports.

ANFF Additive Fabrication Engineer

The ANFF Additive Fabrication Engineer will be involved with the design and print of 3D additive fabricated structures using metals, polymers, ceramics or biogels, utilising a range of additive fabrication tools and protocols. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working to support commercial and academic researcher clients on a fee-for-service basis. You will be critical in developing new techniques and opportunities within the additive fabrication capability as well as maintaining state-of-the-art technologies to deliver outcomes to clients of highest quality.
