ANFF Welcomes Zaw Htoo (Ethan) Aung as ANFF-QLD's New Facility Manager

The Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) is excited to announce Zaw Htoo (Ethan) Aung as the new Facility Manager for its Queensland Node.

ANFF-QLD is a state-of-the-art fabrication facility specialising in microfluidics, organic electronics and opto-electronics, biomaterials, novel semiconductor materials and characterisation. Working with clients from public research, industry and early start-ups, ANFF-QLD provides professional training, consulting service and facilities to enable our clients to develop their ideas, create prototypes and characterise the outcomes.

ANFF-QLD has facilities within the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and the Centre for Organic Photonics & Electronics (COPE) at the University of Queensland and within the Queensland Microtechnology Facility (QMF) at Griffith University, as well as the ability to facilitate access to ANFF sites at 18 other institutions around Australia.

Ethan Aung joins ANFF-QLD as a seasoned professional with over 27 years of international experience, including significant contributions to the semiconductor manufacturing industry. His expertise spans from hands-on engineering roles to senior executive positions, managing large teams and multimillion-dollar budgets. Ethan’s technical acumen in process integration and yield enhancement has been honed across various technology nodes, leading to successful new product developments and high-volume manufacturing.

His leadership roles in Asia have seen him drive growth strategies and business development, overseeing operations in diverse markets such as Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Ethan’s educational background is equally impressive, with an MBA, MSc in Consumer Electronics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business, and a Bachelor of Engineering, equipping him with a robust foundation to manage and innovate in this dynamic field of technology.  

ANFF CEO Jane Fitzpatrick welcomes Ethan to the ANFF family, ‘ANFF is very lucky to have attracted someone of Ethan’s calibre to manage the ANFF-QLD Node.
